WELCOME
Dear Friends,
Research is the basis for improvement in health care, and palliative care needs to continue to build its evidence base to complement that of other fields of clinical endeavour. The EAPC Research Forum, which has been growing in size and quality since the first Forum in Berlin in 2000, aims to assist its members to achieve this goal.
Palliative care practice is complex and challenging; so also is palliative care research, which depends on collaboration between different professional groups, regions and countries for its success. This is the fifth time that we seek to bring together the best researchers and clinicians in palliative care. At the Research Forum in Trondheim in 2008 – close to the artic circle and the midnight sun – we will sharpen our minds and warm our hearts. We will be given the best opportunities to meet other experts in the field, to present and discuss research, gain new ideas and new insights into complex challenges and new information on how to improve patient care.
The scientific content of the program is primarily based upon submitted abstracts. Therefore, we encourage you to prepare and submit your most up to date research data to the EAPC Research Forum in 2008.
We look forward to welcoming you to Trondheim in 2008!
